Minnesota Aquarium Society welcomes you to our 2025 EXPO on March 22.  Our theme for this event is “CONNECTING THE AQUARIUM HOBBY TO SCIENCE”.  The EXPO is held at Hagfors Center of Augsburg University in Minneapolis, a state-of-the-art facility that also houses the Augsburg Biology Department.  The show is open to the public, with free admissions and free parking, and runs from 9 am through 6 pm.

Come and enjoy

  • an aquarium show with 200+ tanks of fish, plants, invertebrates, etc.,
  • exhibits by local aquarium stores and/or aquarium product manufacturers,
  • discount coupons at local pet shops,
  • technical talks for beginner, intermediate and advanced aquarists,
  • a huge swap meet featuring all manner of aquarium related products,
  • guided presentations of marine display tanks,
  • guided tours of the Augsburg marine biology laboratory,
  • raffles and silent auctions,
  • food trucks,
  • and much, much more…

Consider entering your fish into either the show or the competition. New entrants can score a free tank by doing so. Watch this short video from Teresa, the 2025 EXPO Show Master, which explains how to show fish. You may also be interested in this AquaNews reprint from Steve Morrison that discusses how he shows fish. Between 2006 and 2017, when MAS had annual fish competitions, Steve won 5 Best of Show Awards, 1 Reserve Best of Show (2nd place) Award and 4 Show Master Awards. His angelfish also won best of class twice at the American Cichlid Association and once at the Angelfish Society.
